MedStar Solutions has combined outstanding instructors of EMT's, Paramedics, and Physicians to create an enhanced educational program for the community, first responders, fire/ems perso​nnel, law enforcement, safety/prevention services for the private sector, administration, and management personnel.  The rapid growth in this arena created an entire new branch of MedStar Solutions we now refer to as ​MedStar Training Institute.

Many of our courses are laid out in more detail in the appropriate section of the website.  Here we have compiled an abridged description of the course, time frame, and cost.  All of this in a Quick-View approach to find the class you want. Remember, many of our courses can be taught in groups (packages) or can be built as a customized bundle.

AHA Certified ​Courses
The team at MedStar is proud to partner with our communities and provide lifesaving training and education. 
Our CPR courses are approved and certified by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  1. Fee: $ 35 Hours: 4
    CPR-AED
    Heartsaver® CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. This course is for those with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. Refresher Cost $30
  2. Fee: $ 25 Hours: 4
    HS First Aid
    Heartsaver® First Aid teaches students critical skills to manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. Students learn first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, stroke environmental emergencies, external bleeding, broken bones, sprains, bites and stings. Refresher Cost $25
  3. Fee: $ 40 Hours: 4
    BLS-Health Care Provider
    Basic Life Support training reinforces healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, and using an AED; and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival. Designed for the EMS/Health Care Provider. Refresher Cost: $30
  4. Fee: $ 55 Hours: 4
    CPR-AED-First Aid
    Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until EMS arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid; choking relief in adults, children, and infants; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants. Refresher Cost: $45
  5. Fee: $ 20 Hours: 2
    Hands Only CPR
    This course is the essentials to giving CPR by those who have are first on scene with little or no training in emergency care. As a bystander, don't be afraid. Your actions can only help. When calling 911, you will be asked for your location. Be specific,

    CPR Skills
    The CPR Skills Only session is designed for those who have completed the AHA online CPR course instruction and feel they are competent enough to complete the skills exams for CPR, AED, and Chocking. Online course completion certificate required to take the skills exam. Refresher Cost $25
ASHI-American Health and Safety Institiute

MSTI is pleased to announce that it is an approved training center for ASHI, a leading organization in training and educational excellence. Many of its courses follow the guidelines of the AHA and adopt additional training courses for public safety and community eductation .

    BLS-Health Care Provider
    The BLS-Health care provider course instructs how to recognize emergency warning signs, perform CPR on adults and infants, handle airway obstruction and choking. This course is best for HCPs, EMS, and other safety personnel. This course is acceptable by the NREMT. Renewal $30 every two years. 4 CE units provided.
  2. Fee: $ 35 Hours: 3-4
    CPR / AED
    This area is fully editable and gives you the opportunity to go into more detail about your business, what you do and what sets you apart from the competition.
  3. Fee: $ 45 Hours: 4-5
    CPR / AED / First Aid
    This area is fully editable and gives you the opportunity to go into more detail about your business, what you do and what sets you apart from the competition.
  4. Fee: $ 25 Hours: 3
    Basic First Aid
    Basic First Aid gives students knowledge and skills to give emergency care to the sick and injured until EMS takes over. Skills are taught in bleeding control, splinting, bandaging, basic assessment, and environmental emergencies. Refresher Cost $25
  5. Fee: $ 145 Hours: 18
    Advanced First Aid
    Advanced First Aid is designed for the person who needs or desires more first aid training the the basic course. Designed for those in government, corporate safety, security, law enforcement, lifeguards, corrections, CERT members, and others in safety roles or interest. CPR certificate highly recommended. 10 CE units provided
  6. Fee: $ 125 Hours: 16
    Wilderness First Aid
    Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in the urban environment. This course covers the first aid care, assessment, prevention, and caring for injuries, environmental hazards, and biological hazards, and innovation required in isolated areas. Renewal $20
  7. Fee: $ 30 Hours: 4
    Bloodborne Pathogens
    This Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) course will help students understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how risk of exposure can be reduced for themselves and others. The program satisfies requirements of the US Department of Labor, OSHA, BBP Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030).

    Oxygen Administration
    Life-threatening medical emergencies often cause oxygen to be depleted in the body leaving the victim at risk for shock. The program focuses on administering emergency oxygen while understanding the dangers associated with its use. Students will perform skills for oxygen and pulse oximetry equipment. CPR and First Aid strongly recommended.

    ACLS
    Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is intended for emergency personnel in intensive care or critical care departments or by emergency medical providers (EMS). This course includes advanced airways, medications, defibrillation and other advanced education. Prior medical education is required.

    Babysitting/Pediatrics
    The child and babysitting safety training program is designed to focus on supervising, caring for, and keeping children and infants safe in babysitting settings. the class also covers basic caregiving skills and responding properly to ill or injured children or infants.

    PALS
    Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is intended for emerency personnel in the hospital or EMS settings. The goal is to provide the healthcare professional with the didactic and psychomotor skills in the recognition and treatment of conditions that may lead to cardiopulmonary arrest in an infant or child.
FEMA-National Incident Management System (ICS)

FEMA/Homeland Security instruction in understanding the integration and organizational method used in the Incident Command System and NIMS organization. These courses are required for all EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement and strongly recomened (if not required) for organizations who integrate during emergency response with any public safety agency.The four courses can be taught simultaneously in a combined training: 8-hour course. Three (3) CE units provided for each course listed below.

    Intro to ICS: IS-100
    ICS 100, Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS) , introduces the student to ICS and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. This course describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of the ICS. It also explains the relationship between ICS and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
  2. Fee: $ 40 Hours: 3
    Initial Resources: IS-200
    ICS 200 is designed to enable personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event within the Incident Command System (ICS). ICS-200 provides training on inital resources for personnel who are likely to assume a supervisory position within the ICS.

    NIMS Intro: IS-700
    IS700 introduces and overviews the National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS provides a consistent nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and nongovernmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents.

Emergency Vehicle Operators Course

Due to the high stress, high visibility, and high level of responsibility associated with driving an emergency vehicle, proper training is absolutely essential.  These DOT approved courses will prepare the emergency vehicle operator and give hands on performance skills conducted on a safety cone course. Special rates can be determined for private agency training and hosting.

  1. Fee: $175 Hours: 16
    EVOC
    This is a DOT approved Emergency Vehicle Operators course designed for those who drive emergency vehicles. This course contains 8-hours of classroom instruction and 8-hours of field practical driving time on a driving safety cone course.
  2. Fee: $125 Hours: 12
    AVOC
    AVOC is the DOT course designed specifically for EMS agencies that would like their employees to be trained in driving techniques for ambulances only. This course ONLY focuses on the type 1, type 2 and type 3 ambulance, and their safe operation.
  3. Fee: $100 Hours: 8
    Refresher Course
    This course is designed to be refresher training for EMS agencies to put employees through who may need a refresher in EVOC or AVOC operations. This can also be used as a remedial training program for those involved in an incident or demonstrate poor driving habits.
  4. Fee: $195 Hours: 10
    Train-the-Trainer
    This 10-hour course is designed for EVOC and AVOC instructors to learn how to teach their proctors and assistant instructors on how to properly assist their lead instructors and students. Emphasis is given on how to assist in the classroom and on the cone course. This course may be used to obtain recertification. This course can lead to Instructor Certification.
MedStar Training Institute Continuing Eduation

MedStar Solutions, LLC has enhanced its training services to provide a higher level and broader spectrum of education.  With this recent addition of the MedStar Training Institute, we now offer many standard courses certified through our institute as well as developing additional courses that we see a need for as we participate in the field and inquire from others in the industry.  We are a Continuing Education provider and classes that we conduct are available for CE Units.  Below we have listed a few of the courses we offer.  We always encourage input for topics where there would be a need.  Your input is valuable to us and is always welcome.

    Sports Injuries
    This course will identify some of the injuries that occur to athletes and the effects they can have. Review of anatomy and physiology is reviewed as it relates to this topic. The class identifies the importance of early concussion recognition, head and spinal trauma, dangerous effects, and education for coaches, parents and first responders. 3 CE units provided.
  2. Cost: $ Hours: 2
    Concussion Recognition
    As an active medical provider we see the increasing dangers and affects of hard hits and impact during any type of sport. This course discusses such effects, early warning signs, the steps to ensure proper assessment and appropriate standards to follow. 2 CE units provided
  3. Cost: $30 Hours: 2
    IV Skills
    The IV Maintenance and Starts course reviews the need for IV fluids and the anatomy in regards to IV sites. Preparation for the IV and starting the IV will be emphasized. Lecture and skills practice will be conducted. Current EMT certification required. 2 CE units provided.
  4. Cost: $25 Hours: 2
    Fire Scene Rehab
    EMS often assists fire on emergency scenes where Rehabiliation and Rehydration is part of the fire scene procedures. Understanding the need, equipment, and process will create for a smoother operation and integration between fire and private EMS. 2 CE units provided.

Some of these courses may require online training or pre-tests prior to the start of class sessions.
Books or other reference material may be required and purchased separately prior to the first day of class.
